ORPHANS NO MORE!!!!!

What a busy day we had today….

We started the morning visiting a couple that desires to start a home for children in need.  After that we had the privilege to see what God is doing through the efforts of Brother Solomon and his precious family in the Lighthouse Home for orphans. Our brother has put together one of he nicest facilities I have seen yet! The boys we met were so happy to be home. The latest addition to the family is a young man (11) who just lost his mother a few days ago. The relatives brought them in because they cannot care for him.  The family at Lighthouse has welcomed him and the love in this place just spills over! We were served delicious coconuts and there were mangoes galore!

After Lighthouse, we visited the home of Davis and Nimi in the suburb of Chennai called Padappai. David is the son of begging lepers, and at the age of 5 he contracted leprosy as well and was confined to a hospital where he received treatment and overcame the disease after 2 years. He was rescued from the life of begging in the streets and was given the opportunity to pursue his studies – Today he is a physical therapist! He developed a special love for children who are in the same predicament he was and decided to rescue all the children that God brought his way. Today, after marrying a beautiful lady who speaks English perfectly, David lives with his 6 children – 5 of which were brought to him after their parents were dead or abandoned them.  With the help of Justice, we will be able to furnish the children’s bedroom with bunk beds and an armoire for their scarce clothing. He will also be able to purchase enough food for the next  few months.

The Greatest Dinner Yet!

Last Wednesday, we had the amazing honor to eat dinner with six very precious ladies at the Home of Hope. I am certain that if Jesus would have joined us – as a matter of fact, His presence was there!

We ate some rice with potatoes and gravy with our hands – It was delicious! There are 2 new girls, and Shannon and Arul were busy getting them enrolled in school and getting them uniform, shoes, etc.  It was sad to see their mother and father, both infected with HIV, drop them off at the Home because they can no longer care for them.  All of the girls are daughters of prostitutes and some had to, at a young age do that as well. Seeing the miracle of the hope they now posses is exhilirating!  A special THANK YOU to all who have made this beautiful Home possible!

We're Here

We arrived at our home away from home on June 12th and it has been wonderful to re-connect with our bros and sis here. We had an AMAZING service on Sunday - It was so refreshing! (You can get the sermons for free at the NLAG site under English Service).
Sunday evening we visited the Home  of Hope and were able to see some of the girls that were here when we first came 2 years ago. They have grown so much! This is one important year for them as the 10th standard is decisive in dictating what profession they can pursue. We also met ARUL, the new HOH boss who is so sweet, rain may melt her :0). You can see a picture of her on the moped that we purchased last year with the help of Church in the Son in Orlando - Thank you P. Alex and family there!
Yesterday I shared during the women's prayer meeting alongside P. Faith from Nigeria. The power of God was so strong I thought we would go straight into heaven - no joke! These ladies know how to approach their "ABBA. " I can learn so much from them!
Yesterday we also had our Encounter meeting. We will be holding an Encounter in MADURAI next week (Wed- Fri) and we REALLY covet your prayers. Shannon, Sabina and I will be teaching the women and Harold is ready to share with the pastor and some men!. We are expecting a great move of God!

Here is our Schedule for the next few days:

Today 6/ 17: Home of Hope - Two new young ladies arrived yesterday - They are so little. Their mothers brought them and I think they are 8 and 9. Today they will be purchasing uniform and getting ready to start a new school.  Please pray for them. We will be at the Home later today!

Thursday 6/18:  My anniversary and I will be missing my hubby even more!!!! We will spend a day at two orphanages (we will call them HOMES) assessing the needs and meeting some of them.

Friday 6/19: We will have Encounter preparation and join the NLAG  Team in prayer.

Saturday 6/20:  We will have two volleyball camps - Please look for the pics when we are done! These will be done in the middle of the slums and we are still needing funds to be able to help the kids with the school supplies. I think a miracle can happen between now and Saturday. Call Rick at 316-209-3461, If you wish to make a donation!

Sunday 6/21: We attend services and leave for MADURAI!!!

We will visit 6 orphanages and we will be able to meet a need in each one because of the donations we received from Tamera Durocher, my cousin Lettie, tia Rosa and Sam. The Englestads Andrew Meg and Matthew and East High School RElevant and DANCE Teams!

Keep Blogging!!!! Ta-ta (bye in Tamil)
